Marietta, GA (October 14, 2024) — Hi-Line Engineering, a GDS Associates Company, is awarding one annual scholarship for the Webinar Training Series. This scholarship opportunity supports an effort to encourage young people to pursue a career in the utility industry.
“Hi-Line is excited to offer this scholarship opportunity to participate in the entire Webinar Training Series to an individual that is developing a career in this industry,” stated Kevin Mara, GDS Executive Vice President and original Hi- Line Engineering founder. “The webinar series covers informative topics that serve both an individual just building their career and an established professional in this field.”
The 2025 recipient of the Hi-Line Engineering Webinar Training Series Scholarship is Bryce Bebee. Bryce Bebee has a goal of pursuing a staking/engineering technician role in The Dalles, Oregon region. With a strong foundation as a construction safety manager, Bryce has experience in high-rise, industrial (manufacturing and data centers), and civil construction projects. A brief but pivotal stint at Specialty Engineering in Vancouver, Washington, deepened Bryce’s interest in transitioning into the utility sector. To support this transition, Bryce leverages Hi-Line Engineering webinars, which provide an effective platform for expanding knowledge in electrical utilities. Additionally, Bryce is planning to begin a distant learning bachelor’s degree in surveying at New Mexico State University starting in the spring of next year, further enhancing his skill set for the field.
The Hi-Line Engineering Webinar Training Series includes one live webinar each month of the year, covering a combination of hot topics for the utility industry, as well as traditional topics related to power line design. In 2025, Hi- Line is also offering the Basic Electric Distribution Systems Webinar Series, which will provide non-operations personnel and those new to the industry with a strong foundation of the knowledge of the electric grid. Both schedules, along with other Hi-Line training and certificate programs, can be found at https://www.gdsassociates.com/hi-line-training-overview/.
