The Employee Spotlight for September 2020 is Erica Eklind. Erica joined GDS in January 2018 as a Human Resources Generalist. Erica graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Business Management.  She has been working in HR for 6 years, while maintaining her SHRM-CP and affiliations with SHRM Atlanta and SHRM National. The onset of COVID-19, along with a handful of other 2020 challenges, has been an interesting learning curve for all HR professionals and remains at the forefront of Erica’s evolving responsibilities.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

I relocated to South Florida last year and spend a lot of time at the beach with my family. I also like DIY home projects, so I constantly have a list of things I’m working on. I enjoy restoring old furniture, giving it new life, and selling it!

Any career lessons you have learned thus far?

It is never the wrong time to do the right thing.

Fun fact about yourself.

I’ve traveled to 23 different countries and majority of the continental USA. Growing up, I wanted to be the host on a travel TV show.
