Anteneh Workneh

Engineer | Transmission Services | Marietta, GA

The August Employee Spotlight is Anteneh Workneh, an Engineer in the Transmission Services department.  Mr. Workneh joined GDS as an Associate Engineer in January of 2017, and has worked on a variety of projects, including power flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies.  Currently, he is performing transmission planning and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance studies in various Regional Reliability Organizations (RTO).

Prior to GDS, Anteneh was an Electrical Engineer Intern at Marietta Power and a Teaching Assistant at Kennesaw State University.  He graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2016 magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

Spending time with my wife and my son Raphael, the newest addition to our family.

What is on your bucket list?

Visiting England to catch one of the greatest football rivalries in English Premier League,  Manchester United versus Arsenal.

Do you have a favorite quote?

What is your favorite movie or television show?

My favorite movies are The Martian and Interstellar. They truly stretched my imagination.

Tell us about your family and how you like to spend your time with them.

My wife and I had our first son last October and we are enjoying every precious moment with him.
