Alyssa Gianotti

Associate Engineer | Manchester, NH

Alyssa began working for GDS in April of 2018 as an Associate Engineer in the Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency department out of the Manchester, New Hampshire office. She regularly works on field identification and technical analyses for electric and gas conservation measures in commercial and industrial facilities. Prior to joining the GDS team, Alyssa worked as a Risk Engineer for an insurance company completing property risk assessments at large commercial and industrial facilities all over New England. She graduated from the University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.

What has working at GDS taught you? And what do you find interesting in your field of work?

GDS introduced me to the world of utilities and energy efficiency. Everyone consumes energy and it is important to look at how we use it and where we can improve. Energy audits are a great way to help end users think about their energy consumption. Audits also offer opportunity to demonstrate the financial benefit of completing energy efficiency projects. Utility incentives can play a big role in the realization of these projects and I enjoy bridging the connection of end users and their utility so their energy saving projects get complete.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

Getting outside with my dog, either going to the park or for a hike.

What is the best vacation you have been on?

Virginia Beach a few summers ago would have to be one of the best vacations I’ve been on. My mom booked a place for all of my sisters and our significant others, for a week. I had been busy with finishing college and starting my career at that point, so it was great to pause for a bit to reconnect with my family. We tried indoor skydiving on one of the rainy days, it was hilarious to see everyone’s faces flapping in the wind!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I have never broken a bone.

What is your favorite meal?

My Pop Pop’s spaghetti with homemade Italian sauce.

Do you play any sports or participate in any extra-curricular activities?

I started playing lacrosse when I was 8-years old. I have retired from my playing days but stay involved with the game by officiating at the youth and high school level.
